Measureless Princess
When we think of a princess
we think of a beautiful girl
all decked out in glittering dresses
with long flowing curls.
Though this is what we see,
and therefore, exactly what we envision,
we don’t often consider a princess’s
talent, smarts, or ambitions.
If we focus on what matters,
and what makes a girl princess material,
we are sure to find
that dresses and curls are really quite trivial.
Princesses are proud.
Princesses are strong.
Princesses are leaders
who help others succeed and get along.
Being a princess is extremely hard work.
Fairytales make it look effortless,
but leading others with love and kindness
takes determination that is measureless!
People will always remember
how you make them feel.
Dresses don’t quite make the same impression.
Feelings, though, are a much bigger deal.
You don’t have to live in a castle
or be the daughter of a queen.
What matters most is making others
feel loved, heard and seen.
